But just briefly, I used a custom-cut board that fit into the decorative box lid, I used a low-loft soft interfacing / batting, glue, paintbrush, pins, and clips.
These towel sets are available now, here in the shop. We used the simplest of embroidery stitches for these fellows: stem stitch for all the outlines, seed stitching to fill some of their garments and the toad stools, some satin stitch here and there, and some simple flower stitches, like lazy daisy stitch, some French knots here and there, fishbone stitch on some leaves, and straight stitch.
Strip your floss and put the two strands back together, to get the best coverage. That sounds ominous and rather old-time gangster. If you're just joining in, you'll find part 1 - which covers materials, tools, and the design - here.
Welcome to part 2 of the stitch-along for Garden Swirl. The stitch-along lessons will begin about a week after we finish shipping the kits. It's a little project and it goes pretty q. I also use them to line bread baskets, gift baskets, Easter basketsand the like.

Welcome to the last installment of Garden Swirl, wherein we mount the finished embroidery project in the lid of the decorative box.
I learned to embroider when I was a kid, when everyone was really into cross stitch remember the '80s? And here they are, finished and ready to go! Stitch in rows, working the lower half of the stitch in one direction and returning along the row in the other direction, working the upper half of the cross stitch.

Anna is still alive. I am glad they arrived. The towels are suitable for kitchen use, for decoration, or for use in other ways. You can use whatever stitches you want, to embroider these little guys.

Garden Swirl Stitch Along
Stitch the top half of each cross stitch from lower right to upper left. This leaves you completely free to choose your own stitches and your own color schemes. I like to use them in the middle of my table for a casual center topper.
